| Consistent running last week and this. Varying things up a good amount to keep it interesting. Going from long runs to broken runs with sprints and etc in the middle, did some agility drills last Friday with my brother up at the park. Stuff from football practice, really. Long-ass bear crawl thrown in at the end for good measure. Could barely move after that one.
Did a nice intro to HIIT today. Three baseball fields up at the park within the same square of space, we jogged a length, then ran a length, jog, run, jog, run. Did maybe seven, eight laps like that. Stopped for a breather then did some bleacher/stair runs of varying intervals, then finished it off with a one-lap run. I say intro to HIIT because the runs weren't full-on sprints, and the intervals weren't timed out, just laid out by distance. Couple more weeks with days like this thrown in and I should be ready for a serious session.

| So Wednesday my brother and I went running. Started out with a light drizzle then before we were half a mile in it was pouring down hard. We kept going. 2 miles or more up to the park, did the fitness trail that cuts through the woods (yeah, gravel and random pullups, pushups, stretches, crunches and crap during the jog), then 2 miles or so back. Pouring half the time, raining steady the other half. Was quite fun.
Today we jogged up to the park (different one). About half to three quarters of a mile each way. Did sprints of somewhere in the 45-yard vicinity. Four of those, then did a round of stairs on the stone bleachers, then four more sprints. Water fountains in the park weren't working, so we were running on empty by the time we finished sprints, then still had to come home.
Stretching now after my runs, and it feels good. Overall a very good week.

| So it's been four whole months since my last update. I've been pretty much out of commission for the past two of those, and was intermittent for the two prior to that. Recently it was a string of being out of town, then having a lot of back and hip pain and resting it. The most exercise I got during this time was helping out at work a bit here and there.
But it finally seems to have gone away for the most part, so I went out for a run with my brother today. We went probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 miles all told. Just a nice long consistent pace with a quick break in the middle for water at a fountain at the park.
I think I'm going to stick with mostly running and body weight stuff as I get back into the swing of things to get some base strength back, then progress into some punching bag stuff and mild iron.
It's good to be exercising again.

| Squat:
130 x 5 160 x 5 195 x 5 225 x 5 260 x 5
Note: 265 and beyond are fast approaching. Good thing my form is impeccable right now.
Bench:
100 x 5 125 x 5 150 x 5 175 x 5 200 x 5
Note: Felt unusually weak leading up to the top set, but when I got under the bar I was pressing it almost effortlessly.
Row:
65 x 5 75 x 5 95 x 5 105 x 5 125 x 5
Note: And... easy. This is one exercise I probably won't max out on anytime soon. Those other two I'm not so sure about.
Didn't do any assistance work. I was in a hurry to get out of the gym so I'd make it to class on time for my exam.

95 x 5 120 x 5 145 x 5 170 x 5 200 x 3 145 x 8
Bent-over Row:

Note: Still way too easy.
